How We Rank

Buybili does not personally or independently laboratory-test every product. Our recommendations are generated by an editorial matching system that evaluates publicly available product specifications, features, pricing tiers, and other relevant product information against your quiz answers.

When we have not hands-on tested a product, we label it clearly on its product page. In those cases, our scores reflect published manufacturer data and category research, not our own measurements.

Buybili scores are internal editorial matching scores used by our recommendation algorithm. They are not manufacturer ratings, laboratory test results, or guarantees of real-world performance.

Every product is rated across factors that matter most to robot vacuum shoppers. These include:

• Carpet suitability
• Hard-floor suitability
• Pet-hair suitability
• Anti-tangle features
• Mopping capabilities
• Obstacle avoidance
• Automation
• Suitability for larger homes
• Value

The importance of each factor changes depending on your quiz answers. A home with carpet and shedding pets will weight carpet and pet-hair suitability more heavily than mopping. A mostly hard-floor home with little clutter will weight different factors. The exact proprietary weighting formula is not published.

Your quiz answers are turned into a profile. Products are then scored against that profile, filtered to your budget, and the top results become your Best Match, Best Value and Budget Pick. The same answers always produce the same recommendations.

We earn affiliate commissions when readers buy through our links. Those commissions are not an input to the scoring engine — a product cannot pay to rank higher, and we do not adjust ratings based on which retailers we have relationships with.

Prices move constantly in this category, so we show price bands rather than exact figures, and each product page carries a last-updated date.
